Sponsorship Involvement
Sponsorship Involvement:
NTUC Income has been actively participating in sponsorship around Singapore, from organising different events and endorsing some athletes. An example of a sponsorship that NTUC Income is involved in is NTUC Income Kite Festival.
NTUC Income kite festival started out in 2009 and lasted all the way till 2014. The kite festival aims to bring people from all walks of life together to discover the art of kite making and kite flying. By Sponsoring this event, NTUC Income is being perceived as an organisation who not only care about making a profit but also the interests of the people, where NTUC Income motto is to protect and support the youth.
NTUC Income Senior Vice president & Head, Sales & Marketing Division, Lynette Ang explained why NTUC Income chose to sponsor the Singapore Kite Festival annually, which is because "NTUC Income chose to sponsor the Singapore Kite Festival annually because the values of the art and sport are closely aligned to its own brand- contemporary, colourful, energetic and active. Equally important, it is an inclusive sport. The focus on kites also reflects NTUC Income's journey of transformation, where like kites which are rooted in rich tradition, it remains entrenched in its social purpose but continues to embrace fresh and new ideas to keep relevant with the times. It is also about breaking through and achieving new heights for the children, given that they come from underprivileged homes, and it is very important to give them that hope through kite flying."

NTUC Income has also sponsored a young athlete, named Dr Mok Ying Ren, who is an elite athlete who represents Singapore in the Olympics. He was sponsored by NTUC Income with cash sponsorship and also free personal accident and travel insurance scheme for him while he competes overseas. NTUC Income sponsors $60,000 over the course of 3 years while Dr Mok prepares to compete in the Olympics in Brazil.
Mr Marcus Chew, Vice President of Strategic Marketing at NTUC Income said this " Dr Mok became an elite athlete through a combination of talent, discipline and hard work, His youth, dynamism and drive are attributes that resonate well with NTUC Income. He is also a role model and an inspiration to many." This shows that NTUC Income keeps up with their mission and support the youth as needed.

Another sponsorship that NTUC Income is regularly participating in is a Montfort challenge. Montfort challenge is a monetary sponsorship of at least $750,000 over five years, staff volunteerism to help youths re-discover learning and achieve their aspirations. NTUC Income launches this sponsorship in September 2010, for a unique confidence and character building programme that will broaden the learning options for academically less-inclined students.
NTUC Income Chief Executive Tan Suee Chieh said that "Very often, students who repeatedly fail their studies tend to lose confidence and view themselves as failures. Eventually, they fall through the cracks in the system. We find them Montfort challenge very meaningful in helping to rebuild the confidence and character of the students, which is why our staff have volunteered their time and energy to participate in the activities, in addition to our financial contributions."
